Korab
To reach mountain Korab you are going first through Western magistral road Skopje-Tetovo-Gostivar-Debar. 8 km after you pass place "Mavrovi anovi" in direction to Debar near the motel "Trnica" or more exactly at the place where the river "Reka-Mavrovska reka" goes into river "Radika", there you turn right toward village "Nichpur" and after that border police station "Strezimir". Mountain Korab is part of the national park Mavrovo (315 KB).
From this crosroad called "Reka" you are going on old paved road decently maintained, about 15 km before you reached the police station, from there the road goes another 4 km and then you turn left toward the border unit object "Strezimir". At this place called "Shtirovec" the buses are usually stopping, after the turn there is 1,5 km on good forest road until the military object. Because these peak is on the Macedonian-Albaninan border you have to have a permit issued by the Ministry of internal affairs. After completing the formalities you can start the climb on "Golem Korab", it takes about 4-5 hours. The route is marked since the 1,5 km before the army object. At past two years the route is partly changed and at the second part of the trail goes on the ridge and then peak "Kepi bard", not through "Kobilino pole". The new route is more difficult (you'll need about one hour more to climb the top) but the view from the ridge is unforgetable.
